A seminar to explore the trade and business impact of Brexit for Sweden and Ireland

The Irish Chamber of Commerce in Sweden in cooperation with the Irish Embassy, Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia and, supported by Business Sweden and Vinge, kindly invite you to a seminar that will explore the implications for Swedish and Irish businesses in a post-Brexit Europe.

Mr Simon Coveney TD, Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ireland, and Ms Ann Linde, Sweden’s Minister for EU Affairs and Trade will speak at the seminar and contributions to the discussion will include, experts from the Swedish and Irish trade agencies with a business and agriculture focus, multinational companies and a leading legal perspective.

For many, the future is full of uncertainty following Britain’s decision to leave the EU, the consequences of which are still unknown and surrounded by much speculation. Ireland has been evaluating the potential risks and opportunities arising from Brexit since the June 2016 referendum, whilst helping Irish internationally-trading companies to prepare for a different, more challenging UK-EU market environment.

Much can be learned from Sweden’s experience with Norway – its largest trading partner - when exploring Irish and UK trade relations going forward.

A balanced approach to the implications of Brexit will be presented with a focus on looking to the future in a constructive light.
